ABOUT DEVON

Devon Matthews is a photographer, visual storyteller, and proud member of the International League of Conservation Photographers. His work centers on strengthening the connection between people and wildlife through compelling imagery and thoughtful storytelling.

Photography found him along the Northern Shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota, where he first began capturing landscapes while hiking. What started as a creative outlet, quickly evolved into a deeper calling: to use photography as a tool for conservation, awareness and education.

Today, his lens is focused on the vital intersection of wildlife and people. He's had the privilege of collaborating with researchers, biologists, and conservation groups across Florida, Colorado, and Minnesota. Documenting everything from the annual tarantula mating season in Colorado to threatened burrowing owls and head-start programs for native species.

Devon's work has been published in National Wildlife Magazine (twice in print), Colorado Life Magazine, Petapixel, and featured in the Photographers Forum College Photo Contest.  He was also honored in the Garden for Wildlife Photo Contest and interviewed by BBC Wildlife Magazine about tripod mishaps and photographing tarantulas.

These experiences continue to shape Devon's belief that powerful storytelling can influence how we perceive and protect the natural world.
